Pamela Moore Levinson
Pamela Moore Levinson of Lynchburg, Virginia
June 5, 1957 - August 15, 2023
Pamela Adair Moore Levinson, 66, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, August 15, 2023 with her husband, Stanley, by her side.
Pamela leaves behind her husband of almost 35 years, Stanley H. Levinson, and is survived by her three children: Joshua G. Levinson, Cara O. Levinson, both of Lynchburg, and Claire R. Levinson of Raleigh, NC.
Pamela was born in Lynchburg on June 5, 1957, and raised in Appomattox as the only child of the late Hazel Paulette and James Cabiness Moore. She graduated from Appomattox High School, and then received an Associate’s Degree in Veterinarian Technology from Blue Ridge College. After working for a veterinary practice for a number of years, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Lynchburg College, and starting her teaching career at Lynchburg City Schools (LCS), where she was a Pre-K teacher for over 15 years. She retired from LCS in 2019.
Pamela was a member of Forest Presbyterian Church, where she was involved in many volunteer activities: trunk-or-treat, teaching Sunday School, working at Vacation Bible School, and organizing the Easter Egg Hunt to the delight of the young and old. She was supporting Stanley at Agudath Sholom Congregation (where Stanley is a member): coordinating the synagogue’s participation with the Rivermont Area Emergency Food Panty and the annual food drive, supporting and organizing Onegs, providing charoset for 70+ participants of the annual Congregational Seder, and working with Stanley as the co-editor of the Bulletin for almost three decades.
Pamela was also very active in the Virginia Chapter of 4-H All-Stars, where she made life-long friends. She was a devoted volunteer working and organizing All-Star meetings, engaged in service projects, and taking and performing leadership roles in the All-Star hierarchy. Her contributions have been sorely missed over the last couple years when she was no long able to serve.
Pamela was a devoted pet owner. She’s had pets during her entire life. Besides the cats that normally roamed her home, she took to fostering kittens and falling in love with them. She made Stanley promise to take care of their current cat, Leonardo, after she passed.
