Pastor Donald Ray Hutson

Pastor Donald Ray Hutson, 66, of Mount Airy, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, October 14, 2023, in Pigeon Forge, TN, while on vacation. Pastor Ray Hutson was born February 17, 1957, in Forsyth County, the son of the late Donald Preston and Inez Paisley Cassell Hutson. Ray was a loving pastor, husband, father, papa, and great-grandpa. He founded and served as pastor of The Community Church for the last 21 years. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 49 years, Geraldine Atkins Hutson; five daughters, Teresa Moser, Tracie Pipinos (Chris), Amy Quesinberry (Clinton), Mandy Hall (Mike), and Tiffany Burris (Jeremy); fourteen grandchildren, Daniel Moser, Bailey Hiatt (Levi), Jonathan Pipinos, Justin Pipinos (Elizabeth), Coey Pipinos, CJ Quesinberry, Jordan Murray (McKaden), Brooke Quesinberry, Jackie Coe (Matthew), Preston Hall, Bethanee Hall, Bentley Burris, Bella Burris, and Briella Burris; eight great-grandchildren, Alora Pipinos, Emmett Pipinos, Jett Pipinos, Hudson Quesinberry, Harper Coe, Everett Hiatt, Colton Crissell, and Zoey Crissell; two sisters, Libby Payne (Jerry) and Lynn Gammons (Gilmer); and a brother, Ricky Hutson (Phyllis). In addition to his parents, Pastor Ray Hutson was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Etta Hutson Hall. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at The Community Church (280 O’Neal Road, Mount Airy), with Pastor Joe Fulk, Pastor Randy Parrish, and Pastor Jeff Cassell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Pastor Davis Smith and Pastor Larry Norman. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
