Patricia Hamm Mills
Patricia Hamm Mills, Patty to her friends, was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a dedicated friend. She blessed many through acquaintance or friendship. Patty had the gift of helps, and all someone had to do was invite her into their life and she would assist them in any way she could. Often, people didn’t have to ask for help because she would immediately volunteer. She loved looking at God’s beautiful creation and participating in outdoor activities like spending time in the barn with her horses, playing with her dog, talking with friends, and making plans for the future. Some of the most important things to her were fresh air and sunshine and she always had at least one window open, even in the winter! She also liked being self sufficient and owning her own tools.
Patty loved children and loved telling them about Jesus and the greatness of our God. Patty assisted in the Children’s Bible Ministry release time program in Madison County, and Patty, for several years, took young ladies along with her to the Precept Upon Precept women’s Bible study she attended. Patty particularly treasured time with her grandchildren. She loved cooking with them, picking wildflowers, kayaking, playing any kind of game they wanted and cheering them on at their sporting events. Patty dearly loved her family and was totally dedicated to her husband of 44 years, children, grandchildren, her parents, and her brother. Until their deaths, Patty was deeply involved in the lives of her parents and talked of them often and kept their memories fresh.
Patty was always ready with a kind word or lend a listening ear to friends and strangers alike. She loved the people of southern Virginia, particularly when they would end an exchange with, “Have a blessed day.” All who knew her will miss her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00am at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 4385 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540 with Pastor Steve Chromy officiating.
