Patricia Joy Hamilton Short

Patricia Joy Hamilton Short, 81, of Bedford, died Thursday, March 23, 2023 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born in Baltimore, MD on September 15, 1941, a daughter of the late Charles Francis Hamilton, Jr. and Etta Linnie Jacobs Hamilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ashton Short. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fred (Sonny) Short; a daughter, Valerie Eckroth (Tim); a son, Vince Short (Shawn); grandchildren, Aeneva Eckroth, Alden Short and girlfriend, Dragana; Jarrett Short and fiancée, Amanda; Alainey Drane (Jacob); great grandchildren, Journey Short and Charlie Drain. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at New London Church, 12371 E. Lynchburg Salem Tpke, Forest. Arrangements by Burch-Messier Funeral Home.
