Patricia "Patty" A. Smith

Patricia “Patty” A. Smith, 66, of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Patty was born in Ohio on September 8, 1957, to the late Shirley Smith and the late Bobby Smith.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael L. Smith; sister, Kay Watkins; brother, Bobby Smith and grandson, Elijah Staples.

Patty worked at Lewis Gale Medical Center for over 30 years. Patty was a loving person who never met a stranger. She especially loved her family and her friends. She had a wild spirit and irreplaceable love for everyone she met even during her time of struggle. She endured the hardest times without ever complaining and still placed others before her. Patty will truly be missed by all and will live on forever in the hearts of everyone she met.

Patty is survived by her daughter, Melissa Carter; husband of 48 years, Robert Dent; daughters-in-law, Teresa Dent and Danielle Dent; grandsons, Tre, Marquis and Bobby; great grandchildren, Amani, Ollie, Mila, Mike, Gia and Zariah and brothers and sister; Martha, Charlie, Timmy, Tommy and Richard; special friends Ray Ray and Charlotte who took care of her during her illness and a host of many other close and dear friends.

A Celebration of Patty’s life will be held Friday, July 19th, 2024, at 11am, located at New Hope Christian Church, 4229 Welcome Valley Road Roanoke, VA 24014, with Pastor Seth Bryant officiating.
