Patricia Savage

February 18, 1966 - July 14, 2024

Patricia Hope Savage, 58 years old passed from this worldly life into her eternal home in Heaven on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Tricia was the daughter and “Bundle of Joy” of Juanita P. Savage and James Kerr Savage. She was born on the snowy day of February 18, 1966 in the C&O Hospital in Clifton Forge, VA. As she grew, her mother and father created a loving, nourishing and supportive home and life for Tricia. As a child and as an adult, Tricia became a wonderful part of her family and the community’s makeup. Her love for her friends, and sports teammates was strong and contagious.
At a young age, Tricia’s love for sports became visible, particularly bowling. She became involved in Special Olympics Area 18. She was a very loyal University of Virginia Cavalier fan, cheering loudly at every opportunity for “The Hoo’s”. She also was involved with Alleghany Highlands S.T.A.R.S program. In recent years, Tricia has been an active YMCA member, walking the inside track and shooting hoops.
Tricia went to Clifton Forge School system in her early years and graduated from Alleghany County High School. For many years, Tricia went daily to Life Skills as her work. Tricia from an early age loved the Lord and the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, her church. She particularly loved her church family and friends. She enjoyed the water and camp along the Cowpasture River near Sharon, VA. Tricia Savage loved life! She loved beautiful flowers in her room.
In addition to her father, Patricia was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Everett L. and Phyllis Grimm, and paternal grandparents, Lamar and Mary Kerr Savage, as well as two uncles, Jessie Patterson and Billy Patterson.
She is survived by her mother, Juanita Savage of Clifton Forge; her best buddy in the world, Chip Snead; aunts, Diane Hinkle of Clifton Forge and Susan Lynch (Tom) of Hyde Park Mass; uncle, David Patterson of Eagle Rock; four cousins, Bonnie Fitzgerald (Jim) of Franklin Mass, Tammy Huffman of Charlotte, N.C., Misty Stranger-Thoron (Ty) of Colorado, and Dan Lynch (friend, Tracy) of Boston; four second-cousins, “The Munchkins”, Matthew Fitzgerald, Rory Fitzgerald, Keira Fitzgerald, and Cora Lynch; a special friend and caregiver, Lisa Beard of Selma; and her special friends at the YMCA and Wendy’s Restaurant in Covington.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church with Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Tinkling Springs Cemetery in Fishersville. Pallbearers will be Jim Fitzgerald, Matthew Fitzgerald, Dan Lynch, Marshall Higgins, Glenn Mays, and Ted Wilhelm. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church or to the Highlands Area 18 Special Olympics.
