Patrick Clay English

Patrick Clay English, age 57 of Chatham, VA passed away September 17, 2023 at his residence. Patrick was born March 1, 1966 in Danville, VA to Curtis Clay English and the late Jettie Adkins English. He was married to Shelley Lewis English.

Patrick graduated from Hargrave Military Academy. He was an avid music fan and found great joy playing his guitar. He will always be remembered as a kindhearted husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and father, he is also survived by his daughter, Rikki English; his grandson, Lucas Oakes; his brother, Rodney English; and his nephew, Matthew English.

In addition to his mother, Patrick was also predeceased by his sister, Deborah E. Mayhew; sister-in-law, Vickie English; and his nephews, Nathaniel Mayhew and Mark Mayhew.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at New Bethel Church of the Brethren with Pastor Bob Paddock officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the graveside service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., also at the church cemetery. At other times, the family will receive friends and family at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorial donations be made to Gideons International.
