Patsy Taylor Seal

Mrs. Patsy Taylor Seal, 95, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Seal was born September 23, 1929, in Surry County, one of nine children born to the late Germa and Daisy Shelton Taylor. Patsy dedicated her life to serving others with compassion, dignity, and unwavering commitment. For many years, she worked as an intake worker for the Surry County Department of Social Services, where she served as a vital first point of contact for individuals and families in need. Her empathy, professionalism, and calm presence made a lasting impact on countless lives throughout the community. Patsy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Seal Thomas; two sons and daughters-in-law, William Wade “Bill” Seal, Jr. and Vivian Seal and Troy Richard “Rick” and Jeanette Seal; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Seal was preceded in death by her husband, William Wade Seal; a son-in-law, Robert Thomas; a granddaughter, Laura Seal; three sisters, Josephine Cockerham, Winfred Stanley, and Bernice Flippin; and five brothers, Carl Taylor, Freeman Taylor, Dillard Taylor, Tony Taylor (infant), and Donald Taylor. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Butch Holder and Elder Rudy Draughn officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 until 3:00 PM at the home of Patsy Seal and on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
