Pattsy Martin Stilson
Pattsy Martin Stilson, age 78 of Penhook, born on August 25, 1946, gained her wings while surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Catherine Martin; her daughter, Catherine Arrington Hickson; grandson, Jerry Arrington Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Jenna Carr and Jameson Carr. All taken from this earth too soon. She is survived by her siblings, Gale Haskins (Wayne), Wayne Martin, Jane Thompson and Ricky Martin (Cheryl); her children, Anita Arrington Williams (Bo), Debora McNeil, Terry Arrington (Mo), and Jerry Arrington (Julie); her grandchildren, Caty Hickson Wilson (Keith), Cristy Hickson (David), Bobbie Jo Arrington, Taylor Hayes (Samantha), Kyle Wood, Brooke Wagoner, Sydney Wagoner, Jordan Carr (Justin), Hayden Arrington (Sammy), Holden Arrington, Gracie Arrington, Emily Arrington, Kelsi Medders (Cameron), Jackson Arrington, Jonas Arrington; and her 23 great-grandchildren.
Pattsy was born and raised in Snow Creek, Virginia. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1964 and served over 40 years with Ronile. Of course, she needed to continue to be busy post-retirement, so she worked as an aide for the Franklin County bus garage for six years and cared for her great-grandchildren.
Pattsy was the best road trip partner, a concert-going, hiking, zip-lining, four-wheeling, white-water-rafting, book-loving, and flower-gardening grandma and mother. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her close friends, kids, and grandchildren. She was a very strong, beautiful woman and the epitome of what a mother and grandmother should be. Pattsy spent her entire life surrounded by her many family members and she will continue to live on in each of us.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, Rocky Mount Health and Rehab, and Nurse’s Touch, especially Ms. Naomi, who she loved dearly and held a very special bond with. Because of all of you and your tender care, we were able to love her for just a little longer and be by her side through the end. Thank you.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service in Rocky Mount, VA. Our family invites you to join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Forrest Hill Christian Church in Penhook at 2:00 p.m.
