Paul Hibschman

Paul Maurice Hibschman, age 84 of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026. Paul was born in Washington, DC in 1941. He graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and served as an officer in the U.S. Army.Paul worked as a management intern at the Library of Congress, earned two master’s degrees from The Catholic University, and maintained a private psychotherapy practice in Washington, DC for 30 years. Paul spent the last 10 years of his career working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Humboldt County, California.In retirement, Paul enjoyed touring the desert southwest in a recreational vehicle. He ultimately settled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia.Paul was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Una Hibschman, and by a sister, Gail Hibschman.Paul is survived by two sons, Mark (Bob) of Arlington, Virginia, and Matthew (Janelle) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and by Matthew’s children, Theo and Amelia.In lieu of flowers, the family invites you plant a memorial tree or make a donation to the charity of your choice.
