Paul Rodney Cline
Paul "Rodney" Cline went to be with the lord on March 28, 2024. Born in Salem on June 15, 1961, he is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Vernon Cline and Frances "Frankie" Martin Cline, and his sister, Marsha. He is survived by two siblings; his nephews, Ethan and Shane; numerous true friends; and a special friend, Kittie Gillock.
Rodney graduated from Salem High School and took business classes. He was a representative for Blue Ridge Beverage, a successful salesman in the oil industry, and a field representative for the Philadelphia Region of the Census Bureau when he passed.
Rodney loved people so he made friends everywhere he went and kept in touch with everyone.
He coached youth baseball for years. He joked that one year he coached girls’ basketball even though he knew nothing about it.
Rodney was a big VA Tech fan who loved having parties at his Birdhouse when he couldn't attend the games. A fan of the Grateful Dead, the Reds & the Panthers, he traveled anywhere for a concert or game. He was a good cook but excelled at barbecuing. Above all, he was an entertainer.
