Paula Beatrice Suttle
Paula Beatrice Suttle, a vibrant soul, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on October 28, 1973, in the quaint town of Pearisburg, Virginia, Paula's life was one that overflowed with love, learning, and the joy of simple pleasures.
Paula's journey began as the cherished daughter of Jimmy "Buzzy" Suttle and Ann Thornhill Suttle, who both preceded her in death. She grew up surrounded by the warmth of her grandparents, Paul and Gertrude Thornhill, and Jim and Lorene Suttle, whose legacies of compassion and strength she carried with her throughout her life. Though they, along with her aunts Gladys Anderson, Leatha Jones, and Frances Stout, uncles Gary, Roy, Paul, and Chester Thornhill; and special cousins, Amy Thornhill, James Earl Anderson, and Martha Anderson have passed before her, the tight-knit family bonds they forged remained a cornerstone of Paula's existence.
Her early years in Pearisburg were filled with the laughter and camaraderie of her brother Dewayne Suttle and her close-knit circle of aunts, Becky, Francis, Linda, and Shirley Thornhill, who survive her. Paula's life was further enriched by the companionship of Rocky Burleson, her loyal partner, and the affection of several other close family members who will forever cherish her memory.
Paula's love for learning led her to pursue higher education at Virginia Tech, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. Professionally, she became a Magistrate for the Giles County, Pulaski County and surrounding areas court systems for fourteen years, later serving as store manager at the local ABC store, where her leadership and dedication were felt by all who worked with her.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Paula's personal interests brought joy to both herself and those around her. An avid collector of shoes and purses, she delighted in the simple pleasure of finding the perfect accessory for every occasion. Her sense of style was matched only by her love for her dogs, who were her constant and faithful companions. Paula's home was always filled with the sounds of paws on the floor and her laughter echoing through the halls.
Paula’s journey was valiantly fought with love, strength, and grace. The family respectfully requests in light of no prior insurance that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Kendall Funeral Home (540-626-7221) to assist with offsetting funeral costs.
