Pearle Davis Thompson

March 10, 1933 - June 28, 2024

Pearle Davis Thompson went home to be with the lord on June 28,2024.

Pearle was an original member of St. Mark’s Lutheran church where she trained and taught the acolytes, worked in the kitchen and spent many holidays working with meals on wheels. She held them very dear to her heart and one especially Andy Jones who went on to become a pastor. She also coached cheerleading and spent many of her days volunteering at the food bank. Pearle and her husband Buddy owned their own local plastering business for 53 years. Pearle and her husband Buddy also had a bowling team in Roanoke. Pearle enjoyed her time with her family and friends and also many kids in the community over the years.

Pearle Thompson is proceeded in death by her husband James “Buddy” Thompson, her son David Thompson, her sisters Emily Whitehurst and Mary-Lou “Boogie” Lovern, and several nieces and nephews.

Pearle is survived by her daughter Kay Thompson, Grand-daughter Taylor Shifflett and her husband Matthew Shifflett, Great-Grand children Aysia, Braiden and Bentley Shifflett. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Pearle also leaves behind a very dear friend and Pastor Laney Mofield.

The funeral will be held at Lotz Home in Salem, Virginia on Saturday July 6, 2024. The viewing will begin at 1:00pm and the funeral will follow at 2pm. Graveside will be at Sherwood after. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran church.
