Peggy Alldredge Gillispie

Peggy Gillispie, 77, of Roanoke passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.

Peggy retired from Allstate Insurance after 20 years of service. She was a long time devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness-Vinton Congregation and was a graduate of Jefferson High School. Peggy loved to garden, crochet and walk the greenways.

Surviving are her children, David Payne, Paul Payne, and Kem Short (Bob Martin); granddaughter, Kayla Short; sisters, Gail Silverwood and Betty Jean Heiss (Kevin); former son-in-law, Kevin Short; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at Noon on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Private interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 540-366 -0707
