Peggy Carpenter

April 27, 1953 - June 8, 2025

Peggy Lou Brown Carpenter, age 72, of 1710 Main Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, June 8, 2025 at her residence.

She was born April 27, 1953 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Paul Battenfield Brown and Betty Jean Johnson Brown. She was a EMT for Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, a member of Lone Star Advent Christian Church and a wonderful caregiver. Peggy loved to cook, hunt, fish, play BINGO and watch racing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Eugene “Gene” Carpenter; a grandson, James Broughman, Jr and a brother-in-law, Butch Madison.

She is survived by two daughters, Amanda Jean Tucker of Millboro and Ashley Nicole Tucker of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Donna Jean Nicely (Keith), Denise Gail Brown both of Clifton Forge and Lisa Tingler (Muttsy) of Millboro; two brothers, Roger Paul Brown (Margeret) and Ricky Allen Brown (Lisa) both of Clifton Forge; five grandchildren, Madison Tucker, Addalynn Ensminger, Memphis Shane Tucker, Santana Broughman and Sadie Broughman; the father of her children, Rodger Tucker; her special caregivers, April, Terryn, Teressa, Cynthia, Donna; Special friends, Karen Bowles, Peggy Carpender, Patty Madison; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher and Mr. Josh Madison officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Rodger Tucker, Jamie Broughman, Robert Brown, Tristin Madison, Keith Nicely and Muttsy Tingler. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
