Peggy Duffey Brumfield

Peggy Duffey Brumfield, 73, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Sovah Health, Danville, VA. Born on May 28, 1952, in the Clover Community of Halifax County, VA, to the late Rosa Hatcher Duffey, and the late Woodrow Wilson Duffey, Mrs. Brumfield lived most of her life in the Keeling Community of Pittsylvania County, where she was a homemaker and a school bus driver for Pittsylvania County Public Schools (specifically in the Dan River school district). She was married to the late Lawrence Dabney Brumfield.

Mrs. Brumfield will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and friends. She loved the children on her bus and in return, they loved her. Driving the bus was always a privilege and not just a job to her. Mrs. Brumfield also enjoyed attending Central Blvd. Church of God in Danville.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela L. Norman; a sister, Mary Wilmoth and brother-in-law Sammy Wilmoth, and grandchildren, Dabney-Grace Duren, and Danner-Faith Cibrian.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brumfield was predeceased by two brothers, Woodrow Wilson Duffey, Jr. and David Bruce Duffey.

A memorial service to remember and honor the life of Mrs. Brumfield will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Chatham, VA chapel of Norris Funeral Services, at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Joey Bray.
