Peggy Phyllis Lucas Waldron

Peggy Phyllis Lucas Waldron, age 72, of Salem, VA, passed away on September 21,2024. Peggy was born on December 15, 1951 in Fincastle, VA, a daughter of the late Fred M. Lucas and Virginia Louise (Childs) Lucas.

Peggy was a graduate of Dabney Lancaster Community College and attended Longwood College. She wrote many poems with one published in the Hollin Critic and other poems published in the Poet’s Domain.

On February 14, 1976 she was united in marriage to Jean M. Waldron, II (Mickey) who predeceased her in death on July 25, 2009. She was predeceased in death by five brothers and sisters, Fred L. Lucas, William W. Lucas, Margaret L. Blair, Evelyn Jane L. Opengari, and Richard B. Lucas.

She is survived by brothers and sisters, Robert G. Lucas, John David Lucas, Nancy L. Davis, and Martha L. Hanger; and her mother in law, Ethel Waldron.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Lotz Funeral Home, Salem, Virginia at 3:00 pm with Pastor Daniel Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, Virginia. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
