Peggy St. Jacques Rutrough

Peggy St. Jacques Rutrough, age 69 of Wirtz passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025. She was born September 4, 1955, a daughter of the late Robert “Bob” and Hazel Reynolds St. Jacques. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Billy St. Jacques. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Glenn Rutrough; three daughters, Serena and Darrell Akers, Glenna Rutrough and William Johnson, Kimberly and Jay Weston; grandchildren, David and Taylor Rutrough, Ariel and D.J. Bruce, Joseph McPeake, Faith Rutrough and Erica Weston; great-grandchildren, Bentley Weston, Harmony and Melody Bruce; step-grandchildren, Jason and Cheyenne Akers, and Adam Akers; brother, Bob St. Jacques, II; sister, Roberta Reece; many nieces and nephews. Peggy was a retired bus driver from Franklin County Public Schools with over 34 years of service. She especially loved transporting the FCHS band to their competitions. Peggy was also a faithful member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church where she served as choir director for many years. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye, whom she had a special love for. Funeral services will be held at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
