Percy Howard Shelor

Percy Howard Shelor, 95, of Collinsville, Va., passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2023. He was born July 21, 1927, in Patrick County, Va., to the late Mary Scott Shelor and Robert Shelor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Price and Pansey Shelor; three half-sisters, Nannie Blankenship, Pearl Setliff, and Daisey Lawless; three half-brothers, Curtis Shelor; Eugene Shelor, and Robert Clifton.

Percy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoors man, spending countless hours in his garden and at his favorite fishing hole. He will be missed by everyone who met him.

Percy is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Lucille Shelor; three children, Pat Moore (Don), Larry Shelor and Roger Shelor (Gina); two grandchildren, Katherine Stoneman, and David Shelor; one great-granddaughter, Anna Clemens; and a host of other family and friends.

The funeral will be Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastors Roy McVey and Greg Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, Va. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Bassett Funeral Service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
