Perry Lenn (Peanut) Helms

Mr. Perry Lenn (Peanut) Helms, age 65 of Stuart, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born in Carroll County on January 29, 1960, to the late John Elmer Helms and Ida Louise Handy Helms. In addition to his parent,s he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Lee Helms and Jerry Lane Helms; and father-in-law, Cuba Benfield.

He served in the United States Air Force and loved to travel and go on rides in the country.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kimla Benfield Helms of Stuart; one daughter, Casey Chandler of Roanoke, VA; one sister, Sherry (Peachy) Pace and husband Tyler of Stuart; two sister-in laws; Sherry Kendrick of Patrick Springs and Shona Lee Helms of Stuart; one brother-in-law; Keith Benfield and wife Patty of Patrick Springs; his mother-in-law, Barbara Fain; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, B.J.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Combs officiating. Burial will follow at Patrick Memorial Gardens.
