Philip Anthony Barton

Philip Anthony Barton, 36, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024. He was born January 22, 1988, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Douglas Eugene Owen and Patricia Kaye Barton.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert D. Owen; maternal grandparents, Kenneth “Kenny” and Kathryn W. Barton.Philip was of the Baptist faith. His most treasured moments were those spent with his girls. Philip received his Certificate in Welding from Patrick Henry Community College in 2008 and was a 2006 graduate of Magna Vista High School. Philip loved being in the outdoors, fishing, and playing corn hole; he was very athletic and enjoyed playing baseball from the time he was four years old, loved basketball, and later in life he was a teammate on a men’s softball league. He held a membership with USBC and was a part of multiple bowling leagues. He had a spunky personality and wore his heart on his sleeve. Philip would do anything for anyone, and he never met a stranger.In addition to his parents, Philip is survived by his daughters, Lily Ann Barton, Jacy Lin Barton, and Hana Joy Barton; paternal grandmother, Cecile Owen; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.A memorial service will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, at 6:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor B J Smith officiating.
