Phyllis Ann Carr

Phyllis Ann Carr, 75, transitioned from this earthly life Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in Martinsville, Virginia. She was born August 22, 1949, in Bluefield, West Virginia, to the late Edgar Ralph Carr and Nannie Louise Thompson Carr.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Janet Davis, Geneva Huffman, Connie Boardwine, and Linda Handy.

Phyllis was a member of the Kingdom Halll of the Jehovah’s Witness. After graduating from Fieldale High School, she became a beautician and made a positive impact on her clients over four decades. Each person who walked through her doors was treated like family. With a servant’s heart, she found joy in helping others. Whether through cooking, entertaining, dancing, or singing. Phyllis brought a smile to everyone and her love for life was contagious.

She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, friend, and “Aunt Fefe,” and will always be remembered for her love of family. Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her son, Tony Carr; brothers, Don Carr and Steve Carr; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
