Ralph Shumate Bryant

Ralph Shumate Bryant, age 68 of Henry, Virginia passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024. With many medical issues in recent years, he stayed strong until the end.Born August 13, 1956 to David Shumate Bryant and Myrtle Hazelwood Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Shannon Hodges.Ralph proudly served 30 years as a Deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. He enjoyed golf, farming, Nascar and spending time with family. He was a past member of New Vision Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years and loved singing with the choir.He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Renee Hundley Bryant, daughters, Sarah Hodges and Erin Gregory (Kevin); grandchildren, Kayla Hodges and Paisley Hylton and sister, Joan Harris.A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. J.D. Harmon officiating.
