Randy Christopher Gallagher
On the evening of December 17, 2024, Randy Gallagher passed away at his home in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was 55 years old.
Randy was born in March 1969 to Richard Gallagher and Peggy McDowell in Monrovia, California, where he met the love of his life, Laura. The couple moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, in 1994, where Randy founded and operated Smoky Hollow Construction until his retirement in 2022.
Randy was known for his tenacity, hardworking spirit, and unyielding generosity. A loving father, brother, and husband, he was also the life of every gathering, bringing joy and humor wherever he went.
A passionate football fan, Randy played middle linebacker for the Azusa Aztecs in his youth and cherished attending Liberty University games with his family and friends. Outside of football, he enjoyed fishing, dove hunting, and deer hunting. He had a deep appreciation for sunrises, sunsets, and all of nature and God’s creatures.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Richard Gallagher, and his mother, Peggy McDowell. He is survived by his devoted wife, Laura; his brother, Richard; his sister, Annette; his children, Jedediah and Emily; his grandson, Calvin; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless loving friends.
A public memorial service to honor Randy’s remarkable life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel in Lynchburg, Virginia. Whitten Timberlake Chapel is assisting the family.
