Rebecca Janice Elliott

Rebecca Janice Elliott, age 93 of Chatham, VA, went to be with the Lord, peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, January 26, 2024 at her residence. She was a loving and dedicated wife to the late Ultriche Carr Elliott.

Mrs. Elliott was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on January 18, 1931 to the late Beford Rigney and the late Rissie Tosh Rigney. Rebecca was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church and was known as a prayer warrior for her family and her church family as well. She will always be remembered as a kindhearted, loving mother, and friend to everyone who knew her. She loved flowers of all kinds, known as a great cook to all who knew her. In addition to her role as a homemaker, Rebecca worked for many years as the custodian of Oakland United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane L. Dalton (David), sons Wesley D. Elliott (Rhonda) and Kenneth W. Elliott (Marjorie). In addition, she is survived by eight grandchildren, Nicole Elliott, Lisa Davis, Brenda Easley, Emalee Chappell, Stacey Smith, Claire Fowler, Tiffany Elliott, and Carrington Elliott, and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was also predeceased by three sisters and one brother.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Gerald Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., also at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church
