Rebecca (Becky) Spencer Young, 56 of Callaway died Monday, January 16, 2023 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by parents, Robert Elmer Spencer, Nancy Jones Spencer and Sam "Junior" Spencer; infant sister, Audrey; grandparents, Sam and Gillie Spencer, Lorine and Lester Scott and Willie Jones; and father-in-law, Claudie Young.
Becky is survived by husband, Daniel Young; and son, Jesse Young; sisters, Wanda Mills (David) and Bonnie Smith (Billy); brother, Donnie Spencer; mother-in-law, Thelma Young; brothers-in-law, Stephen Young (Teresa) and Jamie Young (Linda); sisters-in-law, Alicia Young Foley and Dorothy Crook (Steve); aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; Greater Vision Church family, NewBold, NewGuard, LLC, Curves and Walmart work families all were loved and held a special place in her heart. She mothered everyone, never met a stranger and loved unconditionally. With a giving and loving heart for all, she was a faithful servant of God.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 with Pastor Steve Tilley and Randy Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Her family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12 noon at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
Becky, you blessed so many and deserve the crown you now wear.
