Rebekah Reynolds Owen

Rebekah Gwen Reynolds Owen, age 54 of Chatham, Va. went to her heavenly home Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at her residence. Rebekah was born September 17, 1969 to Joan Amos Reynolds and Glen Reynolds. She was married to James Benjamin Owen.

She was a lifelong member of Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church. She worked as a probation officer for Halifax/Pittsylvania County Court Services. She loved animals, found great joy being at the beach, but most of all, she was a dedicated mama and one of her greatest joys was being on the ballfield watching and cheering for Abby. She will always be remembered as a fun loving, kindhearted, and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to everyone who knew her.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is also survived by her beloved daughter, Abby Owen; brother, Daniel Reynolds (Dawn); two nephews, Taylor Baird (Keely), and Mason Drew; two nieces, Brianna Duncan (Kevin Senters), and Ragen Elliott (Sean); and mother-in-law, Trudy Owen.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Matthews Memorial Community Church, 1060 Cavalry Rd. Chatham, Va. with Pastor Terry C. St. John officiating. She will be laid to rest at Matthews Memorial Community Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 at Norris Funeral Services, Chatham Chapel from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.

At other times the family will receive friends and family at the residence.
