Rhonda Hawks Ables

Mrs. Rhonda Elaine Hawks Ables, 74, of Siloam, North Carolina, went to be with her Lord, Monday, June 10, 2024. Born June 8, 1950, to the late Elliott Robert and Fannie Underwood Hawks in Carroll County, Virginia. Mrs. Ables was a faithful Christian. She loved the Lord and was a member of Zephyr Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Left to cherish her memory, is her loving husband, Johnny Lee Ables; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and J.C. Galyean; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Stephanie Ables, and Johnny Robert and Tiffany Ables; grandchildren, Corey Ables, Benjamin Ables, Elizabeth Willard, Levi Shepherd, William Ables, Scarlett Ables, Esther Ables, Samuel Ables, and Chance Galyean; great-grandchildren, Camden Ables, Emory Collins, Gabriel Ables, Bo Willard, and one on the way; brother-in-law, David Bowman; as well as, several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Jelina Ables; sisters and brothers-in-law, Inez Bowman, Annie and Burly Hawks, Hassie and James “Bunk” Midkiff, Hattie “Tinnie” and Tommy Worrell, and Navada Hawks; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Nannie “Nan” Hawks, Garfield Ules Hawks, Melvin Leon Hawks, and David and Linda Hawks. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with brothers Johnny Ables, Craig Key, and Ron Hall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice atP.O. Box 315, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to extend special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice, the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home and all their employees that helped the family during this difficult time.
