Rhonda Powell Lester

Rhonda Powell Lester, 64, of Danville, VA passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. She was born in Danville on January 27, 1959, to the late Herbert Lee Powell and the late Mildred Ethel Cox Powell.

Rhonda loved dancing, cooking for family and friends, and celebrating Christmas. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer “Jenny” Minter and Crystal Wilmoth; son, Steven Wilmoth (Johnnie); fiancé, John Taylor, who also was her caregiver; grandchildren, Cameron Minter, Jaden Minter, Cal Weekes, Lillian Murray, Conner Murray, Olivia Wilmoth, Bethanie Owen, Destiny Wilmoth, and Jackson Adcock; soon arriving great-grandson; and sisters, Peggy Briggs and Pamela “Pam” Powell.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2023, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541 with Pastor Billy Hedrick officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel.
