Richard Brawner Graham
Richard Brawner Graham, age 90, of McCoy died, Friday, May 30, 2025, at his home. He was born in Washington D.C. on September 30, 1934, to the late Daniel Parson Graham Sr. and Audrey Speake Graham. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Parson Graham Jr. He was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired with 25 years of service at Virginia Tech and attended Cornersview Pentecostal Holiness Church. Richard “Dick” loved his family deeply and never missed an opportunity to enjoy their company. Described by his daughter as her “anchor”, he attended every school event, graduation, church, play, or sport activity. A true outdoorsman, his strength and determination served him well in surviving over a ten-year battle with cancer. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their kind service in his final days. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Morris Graham, daughter and son-in-law, Faith Blankenship and Kevin, son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Graham and Lori, grandchildren, Kayla Hill (Todd), Alexandra Eaton (Clint), Emilee Ratliff (Jon Luke), Brianna Amaral (Logan) Daniel Graham, great-grandchildren, Enoch, Rachab, Abby, Maddie, sister-in-law, Emily Judy Hart and Joel. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Blankenship and Pastor Frankie Graham officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday evening at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
