Richard Davis

Richard Gilkerson Davis, age 78, of Midland Trail, Covington, Virginia and formerly of Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Alleghany Health and Rehab Center, Clifton Forge.

He was born September 27, 1947 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late George William Davis and Evelyn Jones Davis. He was a retired clerk for the C&O Employees’ Hospital Association as well as a front desk clerk for the Alleghany Highlands YMCA. He was a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Richard served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Childress; and a brother, William Robert Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Carla B. Davis of Covington; a son, Richard Ethan Davis of Richmond; two sisters in law, Bonnie Sue Davis and Jennifer Ann Tingler; four nephews, Mark and Matthew Davis and Mike and Tim Childress.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
