Richard Jordan
Richard Paul “Dickie” Jordan, Sr., age 85, of 4312 McKinney Hollow Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, June 5, 2023 at his residence.
Dickie was born April 29, 1938 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late William Carlyle and Lillie Virginia Brown Jordan. He was a retired warehouse man for H. O. Canfield of Iron Gate. He served in the United States Army Reserve and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He loved his dog Pepper and woodworking, and enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything else.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Paul Jordan, Jr.; two brothers, Wallace Jordan and Carl Jordan; and three sisters, Dot Hoseapple, Helen Neas, and Mary Gray.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Nicely Jordan, a daughter, Vicki Jordan Hayslett, and a son, Michael Allen Jordan, all of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Ruth Smith and Betty Bauman, both of Covington; seven grandchildren, Richard “Bo” Jordan III, Shanda Bocook and husband Jason, Courtney Hicks and husband Casey, Kayla Humphries and husband Jon, Jordan Givens and husband Jake, Hannah Jordan, and Ria Jordan and fiancé Jesse; six great grandchildren, Lillith Jordan, Bryce Hicks, Ella Bocook, Cam Hicks, Jon Tenor Humphries, and Rikki Dawn Murray; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Brandon Nicely officiating. Interment will be made privately. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
