Rita Nida
Rita Brewster Nida, age 63, of Covington, was called home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. She was at Good Samaritan Hospice in Roanoke, VA where she was surrounded by her loved ones.
Rita was born October 21, 1961. She worked for the Virginia Department of ABC for twenty-six years. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Glenn and Alice Brewster; her two brothers, Michael Brewster, S r. and Randolph "Rudy" Brewster; nephews, Daniel Brewster, Jr. and Kevin "Scotty" Nida; and her two beloved children, Cory Nida and Jessica Nida
Rita was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold who never met a stranger. She was unapologetically herself, no matter the time or place, people gravitated to her love and light which is probably why her home was filled with not only her own children but many of her nieces, nephews and all of their friends throughout the years. Her home was filled with love and laughter. She always had a smile, a warm hug and a meal for anyone who walked through her door. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards or dice, going to yard sales and being at the shelter.
Rita is survived by her husband, Ronny Nida; her siblings, Harold (Jewel) Brewster, Jerry Brewster, Daniel (Sandy) Brewster, Larry (Sheila) Brewster, Joey (Lucy) Brewster and Glenda Brewster Wright; her grandchildren, Conner Nida and Breeann Nida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rita will be missed by all of her family and friends bur we find solace in knowing she was reunited with her children and loved ones in heaven and that she is pain free and with our Lord and Savior.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Good News Church with Rev. Steve Noel officiating.
