Robert "Bobby" Wesley Howell
Robert (Bobby) Wesley Howell, 71, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 9, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Bobby lived a life full of passion, service, and music.
Born on February 7, 1954, Bobby was a retired truck driver of 40 years and developed a deep love for music at an early age, a passion that would follow him throughout his life. After proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, he dedicated himself to his craft as a musician, sharing his talent and love for music with all who knew him.
Bobby's warm spirit, unwavering kindness, and deep devotion to his family and friends made him a cherished presence in the lives of many. Whether performing on stage or simply playing for loved ones at home, his music brought joy to those around him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Cindy Odum Howell; mother-in-law, Eunice Odum; brother-in-law, Brian Odum (Terresa) ; stepchildren, Melissa Easter (Raymond), Sarah Hicks, Joshua Hicks (Christa); step-grandchildren, Kandace Hicks, Kiersten Hicks, Zoey Mason, Kaitlin Kime, and Cameron Lerow; grandchildren, Tarikia Minter, Hassan Dixon, Jr., Hadiyah Dixon, Brooklyn Dixon; sister Deanna Powell (Charlie); brother Michael Howell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and special friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joan Egan and Charlie Howell; brother Chuck Howell; daughter, Robin Dixon; father-in-law Sylvester (Hank) Odum.
A celebration of Bobby's life will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Simpson Funeral Home. The family will receive guests before the service from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Bobby's legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his music will continue to echo in the lives of those who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Legion or the Air Force Aid Society.
