Robert David Richards

Robert David Richards, 74, of Moneta, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gracie Richards.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Airborne Ranger and was deployed during the Vietnam War. A passionate outdoorsman, he found peace and joy in fishing—especially for smallmouth and largemouth bass. Above all, Robert was a devoted family man, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones.

Left to honor and remember his life are his wife of 53 years, Ramona Richards; his daughter, Sunshine Richards; grandchildren, Damon Richards (Chrystal) and David Tumblin; great-grandchildren, Kyrie and Willow; and his siblings, Phyllis Ewing, Paula Hadley, Eddie Richards, and Sandy Davis.

Family and friends will gather for a memorial visitation at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton. All who knew Robert are welcome to attend and share memories as they celebrate his life.
