Robert Elwood Smith

Robert Elwood Smith, age 77, of Christiansburg died, Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on March 21, 1947, to the late Walter Kyle and Hattie Estelle McDaniel Smith. He was also preceded in death by his son Thomas Tillman; stepson Eddie Tillman; sister Barbara Huffman; three brothers, Andrew, Frank, and Tom Smith. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert Tillman (Danielle); daughter-in-law, Tonya Tillman; grandchildren, Aleigha Tillman, Arrow Tillman, and Chris Pearman, stepdaughter, Tina Tillman Castro; step-grandchildren Brittany, Jessica, Joshua, Aaron, and Dallas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rebecca Thomas (Edward), Myrtle Diccico (Americo), Edith Kelly, and Jane Jackson; brothers and sister-in-law, James “Dick” Smith, Roger Smith, and Carlis Smith (Loretta); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Military services will be conducted Friday, January 17, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060. The procession to the cemetery will depart from McCoy Funeral Home at 2:10 pm following the visitation.
