Robert Hamilton Terry

Robert “Bobby” Hamilton Terry, 82, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Fairmont Crossing Nursing Home in Amherst. Born May 14, 1942 in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Stewart Loving Terry and Cecil Hamilton Terry. Bobby was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Branham and Mary Ann Johns. He was retired from Central Virginia Training Center and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Bobby was a proud member of the Monacan Indian Nation. Bobby Is survived by a son, Robert Terry of Evington; three daughters, Lisa Poe (Clarence) of Evington, Penny Terry (Twyman) of Concord, and Sandra Terry (Paul) of Rustburg; a brother, Jessie Terry (Geraldine) of Madison Heights; a sister, Geraldine Branham of Madison Heights; six grandchildren, Rodney, Heather, Brittany, Kevin, Erica, and Isaiah and seven great grandchildren, Hunter, Emily, Faith, Emberlynn, Levi, Lawson, and Shane. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Myrtle and longtime friend, Mona.A funeral service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Carlos Malve officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.Whitten Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Monelison Chapel is serving the family.
