Robert Joseph Morris

Robert Joseph Morris, 78, of Salem passed away on October 9, 2023 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital,

A native of Virginia he was the husband of 54 years to Carolyn H. Morris and the son of Robert Charles Morris and Lois Shelton Morris, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James B. Morris and Walter L. Morris. Robert began work for the Kroger Company in 1969 and worked until his retirement in 2011. He was active in his church and loved volunteering. Robert was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Nascar.

In addition to his wife those left to cherish his memory are his son, Robert Andrew Morris and wife Josie; two grandchildren, Clay Morris and Ellery Morris; brothers-in-law, Bill Hall and wife Julie and David Hall; sister-in-law, Kathie Camper; and numerous extended family members.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ken Nienke and Pastor Michael Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park.
