Robert Lee Fontaine

Robert Lee Fontaine, age 70, of Cascade, Virginia passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Duke Medical Center. Mr. Fontaine was born November 23, 1954, in Martinsville, Virginia to Jesse Tyler Fontaine and the late Lorraine Brown Fontaine. He was married to the late Evonne Collier Fontaine.

Mr. Fontaine proudly served our country in the US Army, retiring with over 30 years of service. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to everyone who knew him.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Nicole Fontaine; his son, Jermel Fontaine and his wife Abenaa; his grandchildren, Shiana Tarpley, Kayla Clark and her husband Tyrod, Shemia Fontaine, Ayanna Fontaine, Shakiya Fontaine, Angelina Fontaine, Amani Fontaine, Jermel Fontaine, II and one great-grandchild, Jahi Clark. In addition, he is survived by two uncles, Phil and Lewis, and his three aunts, Cecile, Jackie, and Mary, as well as cousins, Leon Matthew Fontaine, Jerry S. Fontaine, Jerry L. Fontaine, and Donnie Fontaine, and numerous other family members.

The family will receive friends at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, Friday evening, December 20, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will also be held at the West End Chapel of Norris Funeral Services, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Fontaine Family Cemetery in Cascade, Virginia.
