Robert Lewis Nichols
In Matthew 25 God says to his disciples “Well done, good and faithful servant.” In the early morning hours of Dec 27th we are sure Robert heard these words following a fast, aggressive battle with pancreatic cancer.
Robert Nichols DOB 6-1-1963 was preceded in death by both parents Charles and Shirley Nichols and his sister Deb Spencer. Left to honor his legacy are his wife Carrie, daughter and son-in-law Hannah and Donald Smith, son and daughter-in-law Ben and Sarah Poling, and son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Vanessa Nichols. Robert also left behind his beloved grandchildren Abbie, Gage, Joseph and Maddie as well as a brother Steve Nichols (Dawn).
Anyone who knew Robert knew of his unwavering faith, and love of the Lord and of his family. When asked how he was doing his response was always “Absolutely fantastic” an attitude he strived to project in his life everyday.
Robert was a very active member of his church community volunteering in the Garden Ministry, Kairos Prison Ministries and recently serving on a mission trip to Romania. He was also a student of Kempo Karate reaching the level of second degree brown belt. In the gym he also assisted in teaching the youth classes where he touched so many lives. Robert was always willing to lend a helping hand whether it was a stranger on the street or the families he helped during his time on the Coca-Cola Rapid Response Team where they assisted families recovering after natural disasters.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Amedisys Hospice, and for the outpouring of love and support from friends and family.
Services will be held Saturday January 3rd at Cross Pointe Church 201 Burnt Chimney Rd Wirtz, VA. The family will receive guests beginning at 10am with funeral services beginning at 11am.
