Robert Nathaniel Joyce

Robert Nathaniel Joyce, age 81 of Danville, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Joyce was born October 18, 1942, in Rockingham County, NC to the late Henry and Mozelle Shaffer Joyce. He was married to Janet Kelly Joyce.

Robert attended school in Reidsville, NC, and worked for 40 years for Adams Electric of Reidsville. He was a member of Redman of Danville and an avid card player, and he enjoyed breakfast at Hardee’s with his friends several times a week. He was a member of Lawsonville Baptist Church.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 14 years, Janet Kelly Joyce. Janet and Robert were married after the passing of his beloved wife of 49 years, Barbara Lynn Joyce. In addition to his beloved wife, he is also survived by stepdaughters, Cynthia Collie and Deborah Haschak (Greg); stepson, Robert Cruz (De); fur babies, Bella and Lily, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Calvin Joyce (Ruby); sister, Betty Lou Stallings; sister-in-law, Linda Marshall, as well as many nephews and nieces including four special nieces Janice, Debbie, Lori and Leslie, who he shared so many happy days with.

His parents predeceased Robert, as well as his first wife and three sisters, Emma Jane Isley, Laura Patterson, Orene Potter, and brother William Thomas Joyce.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA, officiated by Pastor Daryl Joyce.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, in memory of Robert.
