Robert "Robi" Taylor Robertson
Born on August 7, 1961, Robert “Robi” Taylor Robertson of Rustburg, brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. On December 28, 2024, at the age of 63, Robi passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, humor, and cherished memories.
Robi was known for his infectious laugh and his playful spirit. He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, whether it was enjoying a Mountain Dew, sitting under the warmth of the sun, or sharing a playfulness that could brighten anyone’s day. Ever the gentleman, Robi had a fondness for charming those around him with his unique habit of kissing the ladies’ hands.
In his younger years, Robi was an accomplished cross-country runner demonstrating his determination and passion. His love for animals was evident in his deep bond with his loyal dog, Toby, who was a constant companion and source of joy for many years.
Robi always had a strong will and determination for life from been born a preemie, to being hit by a car at 21-years old, to a cardiac arrest in later years, to multiple hospitalizations, and to hospice. He continued to fight with a positive spirit beyond what anyone ever predicted.
Robi’s life will be celebrated with a graveside service on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Cumbie Memorial Cemetery, 286 Rocky Road, Rustburg, VA with a Reception after at Rustburg Ruritan Club. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, Lynchburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Congregational Care/Meal Ministry at Timberlake Church, 21649 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502 who provided wonderful meals, fellowship and friendship to Robi and James.
Robi was preceded in death by his mother, Florida Robertson; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Esther Robertson; and his maternal grandparents, Pauline and Gomer Turner, and Bastian Lambert; a nephew, Joshua Taylor Robertson. He is survived by his father, James W. Robertson; his brothers, Tim Robertson (Melissa), Billy Robertson (Paula), and Dwain Robertson (Bing); his sister, Tab Robertson (Zeus); and his nephews, Allen Robertson (Kristie), Brent Robertson (Brittany), Trevor Robertson, and Lucas Robertson as well as nieces, Brandi Morgan (Jason) and Sarah-Elizabeth Robertson; Great-Nieces, Aleigh Robertson, Willow Morgan, Abbie Morgan, Lillie Robertson and MaKeena Morgan; Great-Nephews, Gavin Robertson, Elijah Morgan, Urijah Morgan and Trace Robertson. Each of them will forever hold Robi’s memory close to their hearts.
