Robin Louise York White

September 11, 1953 - September 8, 2024

Surrounded by her family, Robin York White of Dobson, NC, age 70, slipped away from this world to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on September 8, 2024, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. Born September 11, 1953, to the late Russell McKinley and Anna Carolyn Moore York. She was a caring and devoted wife of 50 years, a mother to three daughters, as well as their friends, a grandmother, sister, and respected nurse. Robin was a member of the first graduating class of Surry Community College’s nursing program and would later earn a BSN in nursing from Winston-Salem State University. She served the Dobson community as a nurse in the office of Dr. Grey Hall until his retirement. She completed her nursing career caring for children at Northern Pediatrics in Mount Airy, NC. In all, Robin served as a nurse for more than 43 years until her retirement from Northern Pediatrics in December 2017. Rarely was Robin seen without her bright smile or warm, joyful laugh. She had a deep love for everyone, especially children. She enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family and friends. Her most cherished moments were those spent watching her grandchildren grow, attending her granddaughter’s dance recitals and cheer competitions, cheering on her grandson at baseball games, and dancing with the love of her life at the Blackmon Amphitheater. She is survived by her loving husband Arvil Dale White; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Moser, Crystal Branch and Jimmy, and Sheena Jestes and James; grandchildren, Karson Branch, Eric Branch, Kerrington Jestes, and Layton Jestes; brother and sister-in-law, Rusty York and Tobi; nephews, Mckinley Odell York, Hunter York, and Walker York; and fury friend, Casper. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Dobson First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the White Plains Friends Meeting Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Children's Center of Northwest North Carolina at 520 N Main Street, Dobson, NC 27017.
