Roby Southerland Cregar

ROBY SOUTHERLAND CREGAR, JR., 77, of Big Stone Gap, VA and formerly of Ceres, VA, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024. He was born February 15, 1947 in Pennsylvania, the son of the late Roby, Sr. & Janie Cregar.

He enjoyed collecting pictures and music tapes.  He was a past custodian for Bland County Schools and worked at many places over the years as a custodian. He mowed the Sharon Lutheran Church Cemetery for many years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roby Southerland, Sr. & Janie Ellen McFarland Cregar, his sister, Janie Eleanor Cregar and his brother-in-law, Raymond Vest.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters & brother-in-law, Rosabelle Vest and Carol & Herbert Vest; and a special family friend, David Fifer.

Graveside services are planned for Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sharon Lutheran Church Cemetery with Jimmie Vest officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made directly to the funeral home, A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, 2508 Walkers Creek Valley Rd., Pearisburg, VA 24134, in Roby’s honor to help offset funeral expenses.
