Roger Dale Gravely

Mr. Roger Dale Gravely, age 80 of Mount Airy, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Gravely was born on October 30, 1945, in Surry County to the late Harvey Lee and Mallie Lorena Hudson Gravely. Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Candy Gravely Cruise and Kevin, Cooky Gravely Weddle and Greg, Tammy Burchette; sons and daughters-in-law, John Bodenhamer, Shane Bodenhamer and Gina, Barbara Weiss; grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica, Caleb, Chloe, Gretchen, Mandy, Jade; four great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Gravely Cockerham; and two brothers and sister-in-law, Buddy Gravely and Imogene, Mikel Gravely and special friend Glenda; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gravely was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Wright Gravely; son, Ronald Bodenhamer; and sister, Sylvia Gravely Rudisill. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Pastor Larry Johnson and Reverend Blake Tickle officiating. Interment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
