Roger Franklin Barker

Roger Franklin Barker, 76, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at Suncrest Assisted Living. He was born May 3, 1947 in Sparta, North Carolina, to the late John Walter Barker and Irene Griffith Barker.He had been employed at American Furniture Company for 18 years, Bassett Walker Knitting Company in Security for 3 years, Southeastern Wood Products for 13 years, and Martinsville Novelty for 12 years. His favorite job was at Martinsville Novelty. He enjoyed playing pool, and loved his family.Roger is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Fender (Ron); sisters, Mary Stone (Randy), JoAnn Lillard (Herman) and Vickie Barnes; brother, Johnny Barker (Linda); grandchildren, Chris Fender and Chelsea Loftis (Jared); and great-grandson, Caleb Loftis.The Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, September 29, 2023, at 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Eric Kieselbach officiating.
