Ronald Dwight Cox

Ronald Dwight Cox, 83, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned to his heavenly home on July 4, 2025. He was born December 3, 1941, in McDowell County, West Virginia, to the late Robert Leonard Cox and Frances Gentry Cox.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Jawan Chambers; and brothers, Floyd Cox and Charlie Cox.

Ronald was a Godly man and attended Shiloh Way of the Cross Church Apostolic Doctrine. He truly enjoyed being outdoors, specifically gardening, working in the yard, and fishing. In his freetime when he wasn’t outdoors, he loved to watch Hee Haw. Ronald was a truck driver for American of Martinsville for forty years and loved to drive his truck. He was a down to earth family man and loved his family dearly. More than anything, Ronald loved his wife, Sonya.

He is survived by his wife, Sonya McMillian Cox; daughter, Latoya Turner (Albert); sons, Stanley Cox (Lisa), Gregory Cox (Angie), and Laron Cox (Priscilla); twelve grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 11, 2025, at Shiloh Way of the Cross Church at 1:00 PM with Bishop Dillard officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park.
