Rose Burks Godsey of Appomattox, Virginia

Rose Burks Godsey, 77, of Appomattox, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at her residence.  She was the wife of Lynn Raymond Godsey.

Born in Appomattox County, August 15, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Mabel Gunter and Walter Winston Burks.  She retired from Thomasville Furniture after 30 years of service.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Teresa G. McCracken and fiancé, Lonnie Evans of Appomattox; two sisters, Jean McCormick of Gladstone and Vernell McKeehan and husband, Howard of Knob Noster, MO; two grandchildren, Elliott S. Blazer and Melissa Lozano and Troy R. Blazer and wife, Lucy all of Appomattox; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Aurora and Miles Blazer.

She was preceded in death by her son, Malcolm Scott Godsey.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 15, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Curtis Walkup officiating. Burial will follow in Old Herman Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
