Rosie Mae Hairston Morrison

Rosie Mae Hairston Morrison, 77, of Martinsville, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem, Virginia. She was born April 21, 1945, in Martinsville, to the late John Wise Hairston and Sally Lee Millner Hairston. She was a member of Jerusalem Christian Church and had been employed by One Hour Martinizing. She enjoyed sewing, writing poetry, and had made a gospel CD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Annette Morrison; nine sisters and five brothers. She is survived by a son, Carl “Poochie” Morrison (Adrian Brim); sister, Sally Hagwood; grandchild, Shanique Morrison; and great-grandchild, Nova Hodge. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be private. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
