Rosilyn "Demi" Jeanette Thompson

February 2, 1934 - October 21, 2024

Mrs. Rosilyn Thompson, age 90, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday afternoon, October 21, 2024, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center with her family by her side.

Rosilyn, better known as Demi, was born in Surry County. She retired from A&P Companies and began a second career at Reeves Community Center in the Childcare Department. She took great pride in watching babies and toddlers grow into young men and women. Many families in Mt. Airy were grateful for her dedicated care of their children.

Demi was a dedicated member of Salem Baptist Church in Dobson. She was a faithful attendee at her Senior Sunday School class and bible study. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She especially enjoyed her “cousins’ annual weekend” at Myrtle Beach.

She is survived by three sons: Robert Thompson, Gaylen Tucker, Tim Tucker (Kim) as well as two step-sons; Mel Thompson (Myra) and Trent Thompson (Marlene). She leaves behind one loving sister, Anna Laura Templeton and two brothers, Guy Fleming (Christine) and Billy Reece (Barbara) as well as three Grandchildren: Aaron Tucker, Corey Tucker and the apple of her eye, Aubree Thompson, as well as numerous step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lettie and Bill Reece, she was predeceased by the father of her first two sons, Geter Tucker and her second husband, Robert Henry Thompson.

Special thanks to her cousins, Jane Cole and Theresa Hazel, who provided her with many hours of fun, shopping and entertainment as well as her many friends who assisted her with living life to its fullest.

Visitation will be held at Salem Baptist Church, 430 Rockford Road, Dobson, NC 27017 beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24th with Services beginning at 12 noon. A reception will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall. Flowers are welcome as well as donations to Salem Baptist Church Senior Sunday School Class “Pairs and Spares”.
